Why Your Ad Spend Isn't Converting (And What to Fix First)
Most brands waste 40% of their ad budget on the wrong audience. Here's the three-step audit we run on every new client to stop the bleeding fast.
Most brands waste 40% of their ad budget on the wrong audience. Here's the three-step audit we run on every new client to stop the bleeding fast.
When a client comes to us with poor ad performance, the first thing we do is an audience audit. Not creative, not copy — audience. Because the best creative in the world won't convert if you're showing it to people who will never buy.
Step 1: Segment Your Data
Pull your last 90 days of data and segment by audience type: lookalikes, interest-based, retargeting, and broad. You'll almost certainly find that one or two segments are dragging down your overall ROAS.
Step 2: Kill the Losers
Be ruthless. Any ad set that's had 1,000+ impressions with a conversion rate below your threshold gets paused immediately. Don't give it "more time to learn."
Step 3: Reallocate and Test
Take that budget and split it: 70% to your proven winners, 30% to new audience tests. Run for 14 days minimum before drawing conclusions.
